Stlye Profile: Nik Martinez {Bio & Potos}

As a purveyor of all things artistic, I, Nick Flash am always on the look out for slick new photographers to meet and collaborate with. After seeing some fantastic pictures of "Lauren Marie Palaez" an up an coming model out of Miami, I contacted her photographer Nik Martinez, so I can share with you some of his fantastic works. Check it out.

The name is Nik Martinez. I'm 21 years young and I'm just trying to make something out of nothing. I created my own business called Uneek Designs & the name has traveled little by little around Miami.

Photography to me is just a fun way of being free and capturing priceless and beautiful moments. I wouldn't categorize my work with any titles, but rather just a "uneek" style. I learn something new every day and I'm just building as I grow.

As people change when they mature, my work is something that will have a constant change as well. I love working with themes and just energetic, fun people. If you're in Miami and need a fun photographer to work with, contact me! My prices are very inexpensive & extra goodies are always added such as a special edit to the photo such as texture wrapping, changes of backgrounds, designs, etc.

My starting package is only $120!
-20 professionally edited photos.
-2 outfit changes
-1 location
For other packages, please visit :
http://nikmartinez.wordpress.com/rates/

I always have special deals & discounts so be on the look out!
My most popular deal is the "unique - discount".
How does this work?
-If you're interested in a photoshoot and can come up with a unique theme to the shoot rather than just your basic "hey lets do a shoot at the beach", I'll be sure to hook you up. Word is bond :)

251 Palm Beach {The V.I.P's V.I.P} Article & pics by Nick Flash

Palm Beach's landmark nightclub 251 is back and better than ever. Last Thursday, Y-100's Kato K held his album release party there, and needless to say, he brought the HOUSE down with his high energy beats. If you happened to miss it, I'm here to give you the recap.

It was the first time I had ever been to this club 251, and I must say, I was very skeptical on how this party would turn out, due to my countless disappointment with the nightlife in palm beach county. I was cordially invited by Caitlin Moores, a fresh new face in the nightclub scene and one of the best party hosts I have met in the course of my travels through club life. Caitlin, along with her partner Brooke Helvie gave this event an extra dose of charm and class, and really did a spectacular job at connecting the who's who of palm beach and making them feel like a million bucks.

The V.I.P service in 251 is second to none. The bottles service is spectacular, the couches are big and spacious, and there is plenty of beautiful people abound. The servers, Monika and Meredith really give the V.I.P an extra special quality as they are beautiful, charming, and seem to magically be right there whenever their guests need a refill. The bar staff is also some of the best in palm beach and really give this club the extra personality that makes it great.

I of course was there taking pictures so I could bring you all the madness of 251 first hand,
check out the whole gallery of this night here.... 251 A.M.

Here is a Sneak Preview.

Retro is defined as reviving a style that is suggestive of a style of the past. With the lack of many vintage styles, retro examples do exist but are distinct from the vintage originals. It was women like Belle Bennett, Joan Crawford, Gloria Swanson and Marion Davies who
started a new vintage era the “Better then Cheesecake” movement, stating that pin ups were just that, ‘better then cheesecake’.

It wasn’t until the 1930’s that pin ups began to take on a whole new role. World War II soldiers began to use these women as a means of hope. They were viewed as famous, available and attractive women, with just the right hint of innocence. From the man’s perspective a woman should own the right to have curves and be voluptuous, thus the curved, hour glass bomb shells you see on the side of an old Supermarine Spitfire, which some would recognize as one of the best fighter planes that flew over European land back in WW2. They were what men wanted and what women wanted to be.

Now, take all that I have said about the pin up girl we used to know, and throw it out the window! Now in days a pin up is viewed as the strong independent kind that takes shit from no one! Yet, she still plays her role of being a nurturing woman. Thus, my inspiration for the shoot: Jennifer Perez, a cosmetologist from the lovely city of Miami we call home, had all of that. Our muse has wanted to be in the fashion industry for as long as she can remember. At a very young age her mother would find wall after wall smeared with her very expensive make up. At 14 she was modeling wedding dresses and putting makeup on herself. Makeup for her is like going from the “everyday mundane, to Bing Bang Pow, Superwoman!” She believes every woman should take pride in the way they look. She once told me, “It’s a certain confidence and attitude women get with just a little bit of mascara and lipstick that makes my job that much more gratifying.” Jenny’s work is her spiritual therapy, the way music sooths the heart.

This photo shoot was for the woman who wears many masks. She bakes, rides a bad ass motorcycle and still has time to kick back on her thrown and have a few bruskis.
