Poem By Nick Flash:

Mirror Mirror, on the wall, show me my reflection.

Make me look as best I can, closest to perfection.

Mirror Mirror, tell the truth, It's you I will believe.

I know the only lies you tell, are in what I perceive.

Mirror Mirror, your so wise. You play up to my vanity.

When times get tough, you are the one, who helps me keep my sanity.

Mirror Mirror, your the one, who knows all of my secrets.

You know all of my flaws, but I trust quiet you shall keep it.

Mirror Mirror, it is you, who is my dearest friend.

Mirror Mirror, I look forward, to our times we spend.

You help me see just who I am, on the outside and the In.

It is you who knows that beauty lies, way beneath the skin.

Mirror Mirror, on the wall.

Fin.

Feathers {A poem by Danielle Alvarez}

I’ve been told that one day through the black I’ll learn to see

That all those words of wisdom will turn to wings behind me

To have on my back and make me fly when spread

One day I’ll learn to live the lives that the ones I read of led

And so the clock ticks and my feathers grow

To leave my child prints behind when I don’t know

I learn words, I learn ways, I learn to live with myself

I learn to organize my sorrows, my grief in jars on a shelf

I learn to laugh when I fall and enjoy the view in the descend

To fall with eyes wide open in bliss not labels must be the trend

Cause you can fly, if you try to deny the sigh, the passersby may make you dust in twilight but with beliefs from within all those doubts you’ll crucify

Past to my feathers let them handle my history, eyes to the future let them capture the mystery that is a new life no longer a script titled misery, lights on, curtain up to a me you’ll pay admission to see

Different Persepectives {A Poem By Danielle Alvarez}

You hide behind your words, a sign of insecurity

I am because of words, exemplifying purity

Syllables are what you only learned to clap out

Syllables, what they make up, is what I learned I’m all about

Words, never can be taken back just thrown into society

Some see their power some use their force you read them like you pity me

Poor girl tells her tales in rhymes, living alone in black and white prose

Could I be telling your tale in those syllables without you to even know?

I could be writing of you, are you paranoid of sentences

Giving a flow to your previously only thought out consequences

Differences between you and I is the way we read a word

What you use to distract, I use to attract and so the story goes

Different perspectives lead to different lives to end in praise or repentance

Use your words to remain still while I dance to the beat of my sentence
